Have you ever stopped to thank God for the heart that keeps you alive? Every time you wake up, your heart is beating. What a gift! But beyond the physical heart is another heart we need—a heart that knows God, seeks Him, and desires an authentic relationship with Him. Recently, while studying Scripture, I found something fascinating: the heart we need to know God is a gift He is willing to give us. We don't have to figure it all out on our own. Think about these two Scriptures: “I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord. They will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with all their heart.” — Jeremiah 24:7 (NIV)
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” — Ezekiel 36:26 (NIV)
What a freeing realization! Sometimes, we carry the burden of trying to change ourselves through sheer effort, forgetting that God can do in us what we cannot do on our own. We can ask Him for a heart that is soft toward Him, one that desires to know Him more deeply. This is part of the rest Jesus invites us into: “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” — Matthew 11:29 (NIV) So, instead of carrying the pressure of trying to figure it all out, why not ask God for what He has promised to give? Ask Him for a new heart—a heart that knows Him, seeks Him, and longs for Him wholeheartedly. P.S. I send out this newsletter once weekly to help you step into the extraordinary life in Christ. The NYTA life is not just about knowledge or action; it is also about relationship. Matthew 6:33 tells us to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, with the promise that all these things shall be added unto us. These things include food, clothing and the everyday needs of life. It is a call to prioritize God and trust Him with the rest. But what does it mean to seek Him? Jeremiah 29:13 says, “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” NYTA...
Like a precious stone whose worth cannot be measured, Knowledge is a hidden gem we too often overlook. I never realized the depth and value of knowledge until I began to study God’s word: the Bible, which is a treasure. It is remarkable how many blessings are tied to knowledge, according to the Scriptures. All things that pertain to life and godliness are found through knowledge (2 Pet 1:3). Strength and exploits are found in knowledge (Dan. 11:32). Increased strength is found in knowledge...
