The NYTA life is a life of reckless abandonment. It is a lifestyle where you freely, totally, completely, without restraint, inhibition, or concern for consequences give the “power of attorney” of everything about you to the God who knows no limit, and who knows all things. It is you telling Him “You know better than I do” and “you can do so much good in me and on me than I can ever think or imagine doing with myself.” God has so beautifully created us with a will and gave us full autonomy to either choose Him or not. He wants a relationship with us, but an authentic and genuine relationship, not a forced one done out of religiosity or obligation. It is such a beautiful thing that He is standing at the door of our hearts to see if we would open the door of our hearts to Him. When you say yes to an authentic love life with Jesus, you are saying yes to God. When you surrender your will for His will, your plans for His plans, your way for His ways, and your goals and desires for His, you are really saying: “God, I know your plans, your will, and your thoughts for me are so much bigger, greater, and better than the greatest plans I can ever make for myself. And then you get the joy of watching this amazing God do some awesome things in you, with you, for you, and through you. Handing over the power of attorney to God can be a tough decision. It is not an easy process because we love to control what happens in our lives. However, when you come to the realization of how good and sovereign He is, and how limited we are as human beings, the process can be easier. His ways for us are better. Can I invite you to surrender the power of attorney of your heart to Jesus Christ and discover the freedom, peace, and transformation that come when God leads your life?
