He is...

Have you ever wondered how everything that exists came into being?

Have you paused to look at creation?

Take a moment to look at the everyday beauty around you…the trees, the flowers, sunlight. Picture the beauty of sunrise and the breathtaking sunset that gently creeps up in the later part of the day.

One of the things in creation that baffles me is the cloud. I sometimes stare outside my window and just gaze into the sky, watching the clouds form. I can’t help but admire the various shapes and forms that move majestically across the sky and then dissolve like vapor, as others make their grand entrance and journey on. Every time I see this, I am often left speechless, just in awe of how it all came into being.

I try to imagine where the sky begins and where it ends. How wide, how long, how high, and how deep it really is. Sometimes, I even picture how much space would be left in the sky if everyone on earth were placed in an airplane, in the air, at the same time. In moments like these, the phrase that almost always comes to mind is “God of Wonders.”

God, the creator of the stars, the sun, the moon, the heaven, the earth and the entire universe, and everything that exists in it. He created the earth and created us to inhabit it. Not merely to exist in it, but to thrive, to flourish, and to dominate in it.

He is the creator of everything.
He is the author of everything.
He is the beginning and the end of everything.
He is the One who holds everything together by His Power.

Now picture His power and might and imagine that this same God has created you to be like Him, look like Him, and function like Him. Can you even comprehend it? That is who our identity is found in through Christ!

Say this with me: “I am because He is.”

The thin line... I have shared many beautiful realities of the NYTA life—the atypical, extraordinary, purpose-filled life that is our rightful state. This life flows from knowing who we are and whose we are. Knowing is a beautiful place to live, and knowledge is powerful. Knowing God—and knowing who we are in and through Him—produces boldness and confidence. But NYTA confidence has nothing to do with our own ability; it is rooted entirely in His ability. The danger of knowledge, however, is...

Two weeks ago, I introduced you to "I am..." and last week, I shared "He is...". Our “I am…” is based on “He is…” It is dependent on it. This is because our identity is found in Him. If "I am" is dependent on "He is," then it is critical to know that He is, and to know who He is, because it's in knowing Him that you come to know your "I am," and to become the "I am" God created you to be. Knowing is key. You cannot be who you don't know you are. And you cannot know who you are if you don't...

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself the question – Who am I? In your answer, do you have your degrees, titles, credentials and qualifications included? Did you talk about your job or career? Did you mention your role within your family structure? The truth is many of the ways we describe ourselves hold a much lesser value than who we really are. Getting familiar with the word of God is so critical to accurately describing and understanding ourselves. The most accurate description of who we...
